Telly tec Dominic Monaghan has a big female fanclub as Hetty Wainthropp's teenage sidekick.
Trouble is, most of them are Hetty's age!
Dominic, 20, who stars alongside Patricia Routledge, says: "I don't get recognised by girls my age - mostly it's pensioners who stop me.
"But they're always very sweet. It would be a whole lot worse if they were like Harry Enfield's Lovely Wobbly Randy Old Ladies shouting `young man!' at me."
But Dominic's character, Geoff Shawcross, grows up in the third series.
He explains: "At the start, Geoff was a young lad looking for someone to mother him. Now he's getting into cars, going out with mates - and girls."
Manchester-born Dominic is enjoying the chance to re-live his adolescence because he missed out on some teenage fun.
He says: "I've been acting since I was seven and when my mates were doing the things boys do, like experimenting with drink and romance, I was growing up on my own in a hotel."
Until he moves in with some pals after they finish university, Dominic continues to live at home.
He admits: "I'm probably torturing my mum and dad to death."
